Private Music Lessons
$34.50/thirty minutes or $69/hour
Marc teaches a variety of styles of music-pop, jazz, blues, rock, and classical with an emphasis on building musicianship skills. He offers lessons in piano, voice, guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, songwriting, and theory.
Band Classes for Teens
$300 for Ten Weeks
Have a few friends who like to play music? Bring in the band for a weekly workshop with multi-instrumentalist Marc Enkin. The workshop focuses on basic musicianship and the fundamentals of playing in a group. You provide the instrument and the desire to learn and have some fun. I supply the keyboard (if required), mics, and amps. All instruments and singers are welcome. You pick the songs and I arrange them for your group. Prerequisite: a very basic knowledge of chords, and the ability to read either music or tablature (tab notation for guitar and bass). If you don’t have these skills yet, sign up for a year of private lessons with me first, and then you’ll be ready to go!
Jamming with a Coach, a Weekly Band Workshop for Adults
$300 for Ten Weeks
Join a fun weekly band workshop for all instruments and vocalists, led by Coach Marc Enkin, held in a relaxed, friendly, and supportive environment in west Toronto. You will learn musical skills for playing in a band, including rhythmic ideas that help lock the band together, how to cue entrances/endings and sing in harmony. Band members should have a year or more of playing experience, a basic knowledge of chords (guitars, bass, piano), but you do not need to know how to read music. Join by yourself, with a friend, or sign up your whole band for extra coaching. Jamming members choose the songs and I help arrange them. I have a diploma from the Berklee College of Music, Boston, and a BFA from York University, Toronto, and get a thrill from teaching both young musicians and the young at heart. Sing Your Heart Out
$300 for Ten Weeks
Singers gather around the piano with Marc and sing the songs you loved growing up. A fun, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere singing songs by James Taylor, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, the Eagles, and the Beatles. (I take requests.) Singing experience is not required, just a desire to sing your heart out.
