The Marc Enkin band performs jazz standards, pop, klezmir, and show tunes. We asked Marc why his band performs such a wide assortment of music, and he replied that “it’s because I’m the son of a tailor. My father was in the clothing business, specializing in made to measure suits. I grew up with the idea that people come in all different shapes and sizes. I don’t think it’s that much different in the entertainment business. People have different preferences in music.”

Often, when the band performs, there is a fairly wide demographic. The audience for a Bar Mitzvah or a wedding ranges from children to grandparents so they try to have something in our repertoire that everyone will like. They have a huge repertoire and the musicians are incredibly versatile. The band can be hired as a duet, trio or even an eight piece band.

The Marc Enkin Band begins with a core of musicians that work together regularly. Then, depending on your budge and musical preferences, musicians can be added. The core consists of piano, bass, and either saxophone or trumpet. One of their most popular combinations is a jazz trio for the dinner hour, playing background jazz at a sensitive volume that allows people to converse. Then after dinner we often add drums, guitar, and a singer, to get the party up and dancing.
